Internationally acclaimed Panamanian singer-songwriter, actor, and activist Rubén Blades announces his return to five U.S. cities with the "Fotografías" tour, named after his latest musical production. Blades, a 24-time GRAMMY and LATIN GRAMMY Award winner, will be joined by the Roberto Delgado Big Band, comprised of 20 Panamanian musicians who have performed with him since 2010. The tour starts in Miami at Kaseya Center on Thursday, May 15.
“We are thrilled and deeply honored to announce Rubén Blades' U.S. tour,” said Nelson Albareda, CEO and founder of Loud And Live. “Having the opportunity to share his music, talent, and legacy with audiences once again is a privilege for our company. This tour will be another celebration of his extraordinary career.”
Blades will delight audiences with an exquisitely curated repertoire featuring songs from his new album Fotografías and Spanish music classics such as “Pedro Navaja,” “Decisiones,” and “Amor y Control,” among others. The album Fotografías continues Blades' collaboration with Roberto Delgado and la Orquesta de Panama. According to the artist, the band “demonstrates its versatility by performing in various formats: two trumpets, three trombones, orchestra, and big band.” It includes new songs like “Fotografías,” “Emigrantes,” and “Hoy por ti,” as well as songs written by Blades but recorded by other artists throughout his 50-plus-year artistic career.
